So there are many differences between American English and British English. Living here in Ireland (where they speak much closer to the British version then we do) I have begun to notice the differences. For instance In America, “AA” usually stands for “Alcoholics Anonymous”. Here it is the equivalent of our roadside assistance company AAA (here “AA” stands for “Automobile Association”). 4 out of 5 cars have a big AA sticker on them.

It took my ignorant mind weeks to realize that 90% of drivers here are not recovering alcoholics.

CHAPTER DXLIV

THE TALES OF DANGER BABY

CHAPTER DXLIV

After six months in Ireland, we’re checking out the #1 tacky tourist attraction: Blarney Castle!

Will Grandma kiss the Blarney Stone? Doubtful. You have to hang upside down by your ankles to reach it.

Will Danger Baby try to kiss the the Blarney Stone? Probably. You have to hang upside down by your ankles to reach it.

It's about a ten minute hike through very lovely gardens to the castle

The Blarney stone is at the top of Blarney Castle

Look Grandma! From this window you can see all my loyal subjects.

It sure is windy up here on top of the castle!

In the end, only Daddy kissed the stone. You have to hang upside by your ankles to reach it.

CHAPTER DXLI

THE TALES OF DANGER BABY

CHAPTER DXLI

Grandma has arrived and has settled in. Sadly, because of space we had to set Grandma up in the girls’ play room.

This means that Danger Baby and Princess Crazy Preschooler’s new favorite toy is the guest bed we have made up for Grandma.

Poor Grandma. She will have to learn to sleep around two little girls who love to hop up and down on the air mattress like a trampoline.

We love our hats! And guess what, so do you!

CHAPTER DXL

THE TALES OF DANGER BABY

CHAPTER DXL

So, Danger Baby (or Daughter version 1.5) is still in shell shock over Grandma picking her up at daycare today.

She just stared at Grandma with a huge smile on her face until we got home and Grandma opened up the suitcase full of presents!

CHAPTER DXXXIX

THE TALES OF DANGER BABY

CHAPTER DXXXIX

So, my mother is coming to visit Ireland this week. Daughter Version 3.5 (also known as Princess Crazy Preschooler) told us that Grandma will be sleeping in her bed and she will be sleeping in Mommy and Daddy’s bed.

She then let me know that Mommy will sleep in the bathroom and I get to sleep in the kitchen.

Yeah, that sounds comfy.

All set to head to the airport

CHAPTER DXXXVI

THE TALES OF DANGER BABY

CHAPTER DXXXVI

When we got home from daycare today Princess Crazy Preschooler and her bff Andrew played with little toy super heroes for two non-stop action packed hours. Andrew lives exactly two doors down the street from us. He is quite impressed by the girls collection of little toy super heroes.

Anyway, they played so hard that after he left, Princess Crazy Preschooler fell asleep in less than 3 minutes.

She didn’t even finish her bowl of goldfish crackers. She always finishes her goldfish crackers.

I can only assume Andrew lapsed into a coma somewhere out on the sidewalk or in the grass.

SNORE!

CHAPTER DXXXII

THE TALES OF DANGER BABY

CHAPTER DXXXII

I’m not sure if Danger Baby has been secretly watching Japanese sporting events behind my back; but when she gets mad, she does what I call the “Sumo Stomp”.

Danger Baby will lift one leg high in the air and then bring it crashing to the ground. Then she will repeat with the opposite leg. The whole while she makes a high pitched squeal.

While adorable, it is also quite terrifying.

Sometimes the Sumo Stomp is followed by a tantrum where Danger Baby lays face down on the floor and yells. I call it “Sonic Planking”.

Danger Baby has also discovered that throwing objects across the room is a good stress reliever.

Dōmo arigatō, Mr. Roboto!
